The Global Methodist movement has been grounded in the faithful, persistent, connected prayers of its people since the beginning. Meetings, conferences, and ministry are infused with prayer for the presence and leading of the Lord. Here in Virginia we are delighted at how leadership has invited and encouraged our Global Methodist brothers and sisters to embrace this movement of prayer!
The Prayer Team and Multiplication Team are excited to introduce a new tool for engaging more of our people in the practice of prayer for the work God is doing here in Virginia. We are launching Echo for Ministries as a conference-wide prayer app to share the prayer needs around the conference and invite you to follow and pray for all that God is doing!
There two ways for you to participate through the Echo program.
The public feeds let you find the prayer needs of your district, conference teams, and the Conference. You can also submit prayer requests relevant to that particular feed.
The app has even more flexibility! From the Echo app you can join private groups for more intimate prayer and direct conversation. You can choose to follow the feeds to receive specific sets of prayer requests and reminders/notifications. And you can share that you have prayed for requests to encourage those who asked for prayer.
To find our feeds in the app, you’ll go to Feeds in the navigation menu, then click Find a New Feed at the bottom of the screen. Type in Global Methodist Church of Virginia and look for our logo!
Echo is free to use for individuals. As we roll out the use of the app and expand our team, we hope to offer churches the ability to create and maintain prayer feeds and groups for their congregations. We will be offering brief video training with Echo shortly, but in the meantime, you can view the Echo overview videos on their website or reach out to Tera Ertz at tertz@gmcvirginia.org if you need assistance, have questions, or would like to volunteer to help manage the district and conference feeds.
